I am Domini Atapattu, Founder and CEO of Impact Academy, and an English Language and Literature Educator. My teaching journey began at the age of 16 as an English-medium Dhamma School teacher, and gradually expanded to schools, educational institutions, and voluntary work at a girls’ orphanage. These early experiences shaped my belief that teaching goes far beyond textbooks; it requires understanding students as individuals, recognising their emotional and academic needs, and guiding them with empathy and purpose. Over the years, alongside active teaching, I have gained the required academic and professional qualifications under the guidance of experts in the field.
In 2023, while still in college, I founded Impact Tutory, which later evolved into Impact Academy in 2024. What started as a small initiative grew into a structured academy offering carefully designed programmes and certified courses. Along this journey, Impact Academy has remained deeply rooted in community engagement; supporting child protection awareness initiatives, conducting free English workshops at Dhamma schools, and organising student-centred events that celebrate learning beyond the classroom. In 2026, the launch of our official website marks an important milestone in expanding our reach and impact.
My teaching philosophy is grounded in student-centred learning, continuous mentoring, and proven results. I place a strong emphasis on students’ mental well-being, academic growth, and long-term career guidance, believing that true education empowers learners with confidence, clarity, and direction not just exam success. Impact Academy is my brainchild, but more importantly, it is a space built around students; their growth, their potential, and their future.

Built on firsthand experience within Sri Lanka’s education system and years of teaching across diverse institutions, Impact Academy was created to address a critical gap in education the lack of personalised guidance, individual attention, and learning methods tailored to each student.
At Impact Academy, we strongly believe that every learner is different. Not all students learn in the same way, at the same pace, or with the same needs.
